He’s become one of just 13 Immortals of the sport, a fitting tribute for a phenomenal career.
Mal Meninga
- Debuted for Queensland at 19
- Won three premierships as captain of the Canberra Raiders
- The only player to go on four Kangaroos tours
- Coached Queensland to nine Origin series wins in 10 years
- Currently undefeated as Australian test coach
He tells Alan Jones his new status is a true honour.
“The more I think about it AJ, the more I realise that it’s bigger than me I reckon.
“It’s about family, it’s about friends, it’s about people who supported and believed in me through my footy life.
“I think they deserve as much recognition as I do.”
