‘It sounded terrific’, Indigenous anthem performed at Leichhardt Oval
This week the NRL is uniting to celebrate the Indigenous Round.
Last night the round kicked off at Leichhardt Oval when the North Queensland Cowboys took on the Wests Tigers.
Before the game began, a unique anthem was performed by HSC student Rebecca Hatch.
The student from Campbelltown Performing Arts High School sang the first verse of the national anthem in a traditional indigenous dialect, then sang the second verse in English.

“It sounded terrific last night,” Chris Smith says.
Annie was supporting the Tigers last night at Leichhardt, telling Chris braving the cold was well worth it.
“The anthem, bring it on. [It was] wonderful,” she says.
