Infectious diseases expert urges schools to remain open throughout 2022
An infectious diseases expert is encouraging schools to remain open when students return amid a rise of Omicron cases.
NSW and Queensland have both recorded record COVID cases as children aged 5-11 become available for vaccinations.
Professor Robert Booy told Chris Smith children need to stay in school.
“They need to get on with life.
“Rapid antigen tests could be applied, parents could test their child at home.
“It’s really the teachers that are most at risk, not the kids.”
