‘It won’t be tolerated’: Rugby League boss considering life bans for horror brawl
The NSW Rugby League could hand out life bans after a shocking brawl in a suburban Rugby League game at the weekend.
A ground manager is believed to be among those assaulted after an on-field fight spilled over onto the sidelines at Narrabeen’s Lake Park on Sunday.
The A grade game between Narrabeen and the St Johns Eagles had to be called off 12 minutes early as players locked themselves inside the dressing room.
Footage shows one St Johns player leave the field to abuse and intimidate Narrabeen fans.
“Shut your f…ing mouth. Who wants a go? Let’s go you f … ing bitches.
Go on, record me (on your phone) you f … ing dog.”
NSWRL boss David Trodden tells Steve Price “an investigation is underway”.
“It was an appalling incident and it should never be tolerated and it won’t be tolerated.
“There’s a whole range of penalties, up to a life suspension for people who transgress.
“People who behave like that have no place in our game and they won’t be in our game.”
