‘It’s been really busy’: The importance of water safety this Easter
After the past few weeks of wild and unpredictable weather, swimmers and surfers have been urged to take extra care around the water over Easter long weekend.
Surf Life Saving NSW CEO Steven Pearce told Joe Hildebrand the Easter Holiday period, unfortunately, comes with tragedy.
“People let their guard down a bit more.”
Mr Pearce encourages more people to join the lifesaving crew to help over the busy period.
For people that want to join the lifesaving crew but may be limited due to incompetence, individuals can fly drones being a part of the ‘dry lifesaver’ program.
“We fly drones for shark surveillance and water surveillance.”
“We have people that turn their hands to drone flying.”
