‘It’s getting results’: New rapid-build prison having impact on inmates’ behaviour
The Macquarie Correctional Centre in Wellington is using an innovative approach to rehabilitate prisoners.
Some of New South Wales’ most hardened criminals are housed in the prison.
Corrective Services Commissioner Kevin Corcoran told Ray Hadley there’s a whole range of opportunities at the prison for inmates.
“People have changed their attitudes and behaviour once entering the environment here.
“All of the inmates are put to work, from welding, furniture making, right through to high-tech industries.”
