‘It’s not good enough’: Senator Jacqui Lambie calls on interpreter rescue
Senator Jacqui Lambie is calling on the federal government to rescue Afghan interpreters that assisted Australian soldiers.
She argues Labor is bringing home women who travelled to Syria to be with their husbands, who were fighting for Islamic State, while interpreters are left behind.
“We’re going to have to watch them very, very closely,” she told Ben Fordham.
But Ms Lambie insists interpreters must be rescued.
“This is not something we can walk away from, we’ve got to go back in and get them.”
