Jetstar customers lash out at airline after more cancelled flights
Jetstar customers bound for Bali have trashed the airline after a multitude of flight changes.
Thousands of Australians have been stuck overseas due to Jetstar cancellations, with some left unable to get home for more than a week.
One customer said she was given “zero communication” about changes made to her flight, and had to find out from a friend rather than the airline itself.
Aviation writer with The Australian, Robyn Ironside told Jim Wilson customers would be more understanding if they had clearer communication.
“It’s extremely frustrating turning up at the airport and hearing your flight has been cancelled.
“There is no shortage of stories from people with bad experiences, thousands of people are threatening not to fly Jetstar again.”

Marketing expert Jessie Weatherley says the damage for Jetstar will be limited as long as they keep offering cheap flights.
“They have some incredible deals and passengers are very price conscious at the moment.
“People will take their chances as there really isn’t enough competition.”

A Jetstar spokesperson has responded to 2GB with the below statement:
- With the arrival of our brand new, next generation A321LR (NEO) aircraft earlier this year, we have made some adjustments to our international schedule with some of our Boeing 787 Dreamliner services to Denpasar now being operated by the new NEO.
- As previously announced, the addition of the NEO to our fleet provides greater operational resilience and flexibility across our international network.
- Given the NEO is a smaller aircraft compared to our Boeing 787, a small number of passengers have been rebooked on an alternative service, with the majority travelling within 24 hours of their original flight.
- We are contacting impacted customers to give them as much notice as possible and thank them for their flexibility as we introduce the new aircraft onto our Bali services.
