Josh Morris backs under fire star to lead Blues to victory in Game Two
Former NSW State of Origin star Josh Morris has backed under siege Captain James Tedesco to bounce back and lead the Blues to victory in Game two.
Tedesco ran for over 200 metres in the series opener but has been the subject of criticism for his performance in NSW’s 26-18 loss to Queensland in Adelaide.
Morris, who played Origin with Tedesco for the Blues, says he’s expecting a big turnaround from the superstar fullback.
“A quiet game?” Morris said.
“He still ran for over 200m, he tried his backside off, fair call some of his defensive lapses there.
“He wouldn’t be happy with them, but he is his harshest critic and I’ve got no doubt that he’ll go out in Game two and be one of the best players out there on the field.
“And if New South Wales get the victory it’ll be on the back of a James Tedesco man of the match performance.”
Game two will be played at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday June 21.
