‘Just leave it’: Paul Gallen backs call for consultation as further NRL rule changes floated

Sharks great Paul Gallen has backed Mark Levy’s proposal to consult with a conference panel of NRL stakeholders before any more rules are introduced.

A punishment for teams who deliberately kick into touch has been suggested by ARL Commissioner Wayne Pearce, infuriating fans.

Gal admitted the six-again rule change has grown on him, but told Mark there needs to be a line in the sand.

“The amount of rule changes we’ve had in the past 12 to 18 months has been more than we’ve had in over 100 years.

“There’s an old saying ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’; we’ve got the greatest game of all, let’s just leave it.”
