Ken Callander thrilled to be recognised with race named in his honour

Acclaimed racing journalists Ken Callander and Max Presnell have been honoured with the naming of a $1m race at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
Callander became famous for his segments on Channel Nine’s Wide World Of Sports back in the days when you could only watch the Saturday races on free-to-air TV.
He told Mark Levy he was humbled by the recognition.
“It feels good, I am very proud and it’s something to tell the grandkids.”
