Broncos Coach Kevin Walters says he’s “very confident” star enforcer Payne Haas will remain at Red Hill, after reports emerged he’ll go to the open market later this year.

Haas is contracted to Brisbane until the end of 2024, but it was revealed earlier this week that Haas will field offers from other clubs from November 1.

However, Walters told The Continuous Call Team he’s confident Haas won’t be going anywhere.

“We are very confident we can retain Payne’s services,” Walters said.

“We are also very respectful of what Payne and his manager are wanting to do.

“We’ve got a great belief in the systems and the environment for Payne to play at his best and for him to play his best football.”
