Key union declares ‘loss of faith’ in Labor leader, threatens to back Coalition
A key union has declared a “loss of faith” in state Labor leader Luke Foley.
NSW Health Services Union National Secretary Gerard Hayes is threatening to back a Berejiklian-led Coalition if it gets the best outcomes for hospital and aged care workers.
It comes six months before the state election, as Mr Hayes launched a scathing attack on Mr Foley’s leadership at the weekend.
The HSU boss tells Ray Hadley while they’re affiliated with the Labor party, he’s not happy with Mr Foley’s response to the union’s list of requests about what a future Labor leader would do.
“We will work with whoever will work with us as long as our members are getting the outcomes that they need.
“I am no union law lord who determines who’s going to be leaders and who’s not. I’m not interested in that.”
