Kids expected to swelter despite $220 million school upgrades
Sydney’s west is being promised 13 new and upgraded schools, but there’s a catch – they won’t all be air-conditioned.
The State Government’s $220 million injection of funds will be used to upgrade and build new schools.
But NSW Education Minister Rob Stokes says air conditioners will come on a case by case basis.
Ben Fordhman speaks with NSW Shadow Education Minister Jihad Dib about the oversight.
“It’s hard to believe they’re spending money on schools but then forgetting about the air conditioning.
“If you’re going to build something, build it properly. This is a half-baked idea.”
