Knox Grammar blasted for keeping parents in the dark on vile chatroom
Knox Grammar is copping serious backlash for failing to inform parents of the discovery of a secret group chat where students engaged with disturbing content until it was exposed by media.
Senior students have been suspended or have left the school after posting vile and disturbing imagery and commentary in a private online chatroom on Discord.
The Daily Telegraph crime editor Mark Morri says the messages included misogynistic, racist and pedophilic commentary.
While the school spoke with police about the nature of the group, parents at the school were left in the dark until after The Daily Telegraph began asking questions.
Mr Morri told Ray Hadley this “sort of culture” at the school has “been around for years” and the lack of response and urgency is “concerning”.
“I don’t think they’ve addressed it as they should’ve and their response publicly has been quite inadequate.”
