The NSW Labor leader Chris Minns has joined Ray Hadley to raise his concerns about the business case and effectiveness of raising the Warragamba Dam wall.

Mr Minns predicts the cost of the project will be over $1 billion and believes there is not enough information available to confidently back the project.

“The problem I have is that Water NSW haven’t even completed the business case,” he said.

“I’m concerned that it’s not the silver bullet that many believe it is.”

In the wide-ranging interview, Mr Minns also talked about his call for the federal government to keep the COVID-19 payments for casual workers who are isolating.

“We don’t want them circulating in the community,” he told Ray Hadley.

“We’ve got to protect our emergency departments at the moment because they’re getting overwhelmed.”
