‘Labor’s back and so is the carbon tax’: Shadow Minister weighs in on carbon emissions
Australia’s heaviest polluters could have tougher limits placed on their carbon emissions.
The Federal Government has unveiled plans to overhaul the “safeguards mechanism”.
Under the changes, key businesses would be required to slash emissions by 30-percent, in the next seven years.
Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy Ted O’Brien told Mark Levy the tax comes at a time when businesses are on their knees.
“Labor is back, and so is the carbon tax. This is the biggest carbon tax Labor has introduced to date.”
