Liberal councilor blows up at her own party over Warragamba dam funding
A Liberal councilor is pleading will all members in parliament to step up and protect the Hawkesbury.
The New South Wales Premier is promising to pay to raise the Warragamba dam wall, even if the Federal Government doesn’t come to the table.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has privately ruled out funding the project, which is estimated to cost at least $1.6 billion.
Hawkesbury Mayor and Liberal councilor Sarah McMahon told Jim Wilson her frustration is boiling over.
“We have now had had six floods in two and a half years.
“We can’t go through it anymore, our community is tired and exhausted.”
