A Liberal MP concedes government debt levels are an enormous issue.

Latest figures from the International Monetary Fund show the Australian government’s debt has increased faster than almost any other country around the world since the global financial crisis.

Federal Liberal MP Tim Wilson tells Alan Jones, the government is doing what it can to curb it.

“The task of actually reigning in spending and reducing the debt is not a straightforward one.

“One of the critical challenges we need to face as a country is why the debt is growing.”
