Liberal MP Paul Fletcher is calling out the government over a “surprise” deal done with teal independents.

Labor and the teal independents struck a deal for a change to the order of questions between the Coalition and the crossbench.

A motion was passed so that one of the Coalition’s questions gets pushed down the order in favour of a question from the crossbench.

“This means a loss of a question to the Opposition which is very disappointing because obviously, it’s our job to hold the government to account,” Mr Fletcher told Ray Hadley.

The Coalition is now moving to extend question time.
