Australia is waking up to a golden day at the La Defence Arena in Paris, with Cam McEvoy and Kaylee McKeown both winning gold medals within 15 glorious minutes.

McEvoy took out the 50m freestyle title in a time of 21.25, having change his training to specialise in sprinting.

Just minutes later, it was Kaylee McKeown who defended her 200m backstroke title to become the first person to even defend both 100 and 200m backstroke crowns.

After seven days of competition in the pool, Australia has seven gold medals, with the US back in second place with four golds.
