Noemie Fox has joined her sister Jess as an Olympic gold medallist, winning the Kayak Cross event on a stunning Tuesday at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium.

Coming into the final, Fox had won all three of her races in the lead up and managed to keep her composure to edge out Frenchwoman Angele Hug and Great Britain’s Kimberly Woods to win gold.

Noemie Fox told Nine Radio she was determined to stay composed throughout the frantic final.

“The crowd was just pushing me,” she said.

“I just kept focusing on my run, but I heard my mum screaming. It’s surreal, it’s amazing and it’s years of hard work.”
