Australia’s swimming campaign at the Paris Olympics has ended with another two silver medals.

Meg Harris swam brilliantly to win silver in the 50m freestyle behind Sarah Sjostrom, who was the almost unbackable favourite to win the race.

Later on the final day of competition at the La Defence Arena, Mollie O’Callaghan’s anchor leg in the 4×100 medley relay final saw Australia win another silver medal behind the United States, which broke the world record in the race.

That women’s medley relay result meant the US topped the swimming medal table, winning eight gold medals compared to Australia’s seven.
