‘Minnslide’: Labor wins State Election, Chris Minns 47th Premier, Perrottet stands down
Labor has ended a 12-year Liberal stronghold on NSW in the 2023 State Election and are heading towards claiming a majority government. Labor leader Chris Minns will be the 47th Premier of NSW.
The Premier-elect addressed the Labor party faithful saying “after 12 years in opposition, the people of NSW have voted for a fresh start.”

Outgoing Premier Dominic Perrottet conceded defeat, urging NSW to get behind Chris Minns saying “I have no doubt that he will make a fine 47th Premier of NSW.”
Mr Perrottet will step down as the parliamentary leader of the Liberal party.
