Liverpool pumping station set to transform Southwest Sydney
Southwest Sydney is poised for a significant infrastructure upgrade as Sydney Water nears completion of its second-largest pumping station, set to service 84,000 dwellings.
The Liverpool pumping station, part of the $450 million Prospect to Macarthur (ProMac) investment, will revamp and extend the city’s water and wastewater facilities.
Upon its completion, the pumping station is projected to generate 62,000 new jobs in the region, contributing to the economies of the Liverpool CBD, Western Sydney Aerotropolis Growth area, Southwest Growth Area, and Menangle Park.
Construction of the facility began in late 2020 with 1500 employees working on the project.
