Westfield Shopping Centre at Liverpool has been evacuated after a fire broke out in the car park.

Thick smoke is drifting from a small rubbish fire, forcing the evacuation of more than 1000 shoppers and employees.

Firefighters in breathing apparatuses managed to extinguished the blaze but are still working to ventilate the area.

Paramedics are treating one person for smoke inhalation.

Shopper Tanya tells Ray Hadley they were rushed out of the building.
