Local moth adds a ridiculous $450 million blockade to dam project
“You’ll struggle to believe this,” Ben Fordham told his Breakfast listeners.
The NSW town of Forbes remains subject to ongoing flooding despite promises to raise the Wyangala Dam.
The project was slated to cost $650 million in 2019, but now it’s blown out to $2 billion.
Since 2016 every major project in NSW has been subject to an environmental tax, with one specific biodiversity offset at the Wyangala Dam costing taxpayers $450 million.
The Golden Sun Moth is found in large parts of regional NSW with a lifespan of one to four days.
“Moths with a half a billion-dollar price tag!” Ben said.
