‘Loopy’ academic cries racism on Netball Australia
University of Technology Sydney Professor Nareen Young is being called out over her claims of racism at the highest levels of netball.
The professor has previously said Scott Morrison’s admission he ate white bread showed a “deep lack of understanding” about Australia, linking white bread to “Anglo men” and brown bread to the “healthy” working class.
On Monday, she was part of an ABC Drum panel discussing the Aussie Diamonds’ refusal to wear a uniform with a logo of Gina Rinehart’s company.
“There is quite a lot of racism at every level of netball,” she said.
Professor Young was on the board of Netball Australia from 2013-2015, during which time an ad was made with “all these blonde people”.
But Ben Fordham says Ms Young has failed to provide any proof.
“Professor, stop throwing around racism claims like it’s confetti,” Ben Fordham said.
