Lowes addresses concerns over vaccination checks
Retailer Lowes says they are complying with COVID-19 rules, despite not checking customers’ vaccination status.
Ben Fordham Live was contacted by a worker who says they weren’t required to ask customers if they’re double vaccinated.
The Health Orders say, “please be aware that a person may not wish to show you their vaccination evidence”.
Head of People at Lowes Jason Heap told Ben Fordham they have signage at the front of their stores.
“We’ve been inspected five times in the last two days by NSW Health and Police and we’ve passed every time.
“99 per cent of our customers are repeat customers and often our staff know them.
“Our feedback from our stores is that we’re getting lots of people who are coming to us saying they’re not vaccinated, or they’ve only been vaccinated once, and in that case we’re encouraging them to shop online.
“We have had one incident at our Penrith store where we’ve had to call the police because an unvaccinated person made a fuss about it.”
