Luke Foley’s light rail promise if he wins the next election?
The State Opposition leader says he’ll be making the most of the under siege Sydney Light Rail project if his party takes power at the March state election.
In a speech, Transport Minister Andrew Constance claimed the project can be done by early next year, despite the sub-contractor saying it wouldn’t be complete until May 2020.
Luke Foley tells Ben Fordham the project has been a disaster but insists he would stick with it if elected.
“The notion that billions of dollars is spent by a government on an infrastructure project only for an incoming government to then tear up that infrastructure…
“What’s the cost of that?
“I think common sense tells you, you’re going to have to make the best of it.”
