Luna Park artwork slammed as ‘racist’
A Sydney woman has called for the removal of a “racist” caricature from Luna Park.
The sign dates back to 1935 and shows a woman at a fortune-telling machine which reads “You will meet a dark gentleman soon.”
Standing beside the machine is a dark skin man.
Karl Stefanovic says the woman found the exaggerated features racist.

A sign beside the image in Coney Island warns visitors that some of the paintings “may be considered politically incorrect” but have been preserved for their “social, cultural and artistic value for your appreciation, reflection and enjoyment”.
