Secret text messages between the French leader and the Prime Minister have been revealed amid a submarine row.

Emmanuel Macron told an Australian journalist that Scott Morrison lied to him over the submarine deal.

The Prime Minister had raised the issue of the $90 billion subs with Mr Macron at an event in Paris in June, suggesting he was looking at alternatives.

Mr Morrison has revealed more details about their private text messages ahead of the AUKUS deal being finalised.

“Game over,” Ben said.

“Emmanuel Macron can sulk all he likes.

“If it was a good deal, we’d still be in it.”
