Make it mainstream: How the government wants to change disability approach
The federal government has announced a $250 million National Disability Strategy for the next decade.
The job rate for people with a disability has been 30 per cent lower than the general population for the last 30 years.
As part of the strategy, Social Services Minister Anne Ruston told Deborah Knight they want to encourage employers to hire people with a disability.
“They are some of the most productive and fantastic employees an organisation can ever have.
“We want to mainstream disability inclusion into people’s thinking.”
