Man charged after stabbing 82-year-old patron at Alexandria pub

Police have arrested and charged a man who allegedly stabbed an elderly patron at an inner Sydney pub on the weekend.
Just before 3pm on Saturday, two men, aged 61 and 82, got into an argument at the Camelia Grove Hotel on Henderson Road at Alexandria.
The younger man allegedly stabbed the elderly man in the chest with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Paramedics rushed the older man to RPA Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and remains in a stable condition.
24 hours after the attack, police arrested the 61-year-old at a home on Kembla Street in Wollongong.
He’s been charged and refused bail to appear in court today.
