Nepean Hospital in lockdown
The emergency department at Nepean Hospital is in lockdown after shots were fired this afternoon.
It’s understood a man began making threats and wielding a knife when he was shot in the stomach by police officers.
NSW Ambulance confirmed to Sydney Live that paramedics were treating one patient.
Ben Fordham revealed the man survived and is under police guard.

Western Weekender reporter Nicola Barton is at Nepean Hospital and says riot squad trucks, ambulance crews and firefighters have swarmed the scene.
Doctors and visitors were evacuated from the building while patients remain in lockdown.
Police have enacted a 100m perimeter around the hospital amidst unconfirmed reports of a bomb threat.
