Manly Sea Eagles coach apologises for pride jersey controversy
Manly Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler has apologised to the NRL and other clubs for creating negative news around Manly players boycotting the pride jerseys.
The seven Manly players who refused to wear the jersey will not be playing on Thursday night.
Mr Hasler confirmed the team will still go ahead and wear the jerseys when they face off against the Roosters.
Manly Sea Eagles captain Daily Cherry Evans stated “we have to make sure we look after our teammates,” despite the views of the team.
Former rugby league and rugby union footballer Ruan Sims told Deborah Knight the apology is “genuine”.
“He doesn’t say things just for the sake of saying them.”
