Mark Latham blasts Labor MP for ‘appalling’ booze incident
Mark Latham has responded to Labor MP Anna Watson’s statement on a drinking incident inside parliament house.
The NSW One Nation leader used parliamentary privilege to allege Ms Watson was “paralytically drunk” while in parliament’s bar in August of 2020, claiming staff had “to stop her from driving home in this paralytically drunk state”.
Ms Watson admitted to drinking in a statement, but denied trying to drive home.
Mr Latham told Ben Fordham “I take the denial about drink driving on board”.
“But we’ll wait and see what the parliamentary officials say.”
The One Nation leader has taken issue with Ms Watson playing a part in the creation of the Broderick report.
“If you’ve got a serious drinking problem … don’t go nominating for the committee judging everyone else.
“The lack of self-awareness from this Anna Watson is just off the radar.”
