Nationals MP Matt Canavan is encouraging Australia to efficiently use coal-fired power stations amid warnings of higher energy prices.

The Greens in Germany have decided to kickstart nuclear power heading into winter, while Japan recently launched a low-emissions coal-fired power station.

Mr Canavan told Ben Fordham Australia doesn’t have the same technology.

“We’ve got the world’s best coal, but we don’t have the world’s best coal-fired power technology.”
