Mayor calls to remove paedophiles from neighbourhood
The Fairfield City Council mayor has called for paedophiles to be removed from the area.
A house in Smithfield, purchased by NSW Disability Services, is reportedly the residence of a convicted paedophile.
The council have written to state and federal ministers to move the man out of the area.
Mayor Frank Carbone tells Ben Fordham he does not want child sex offenders to live near schools.
“This house was put aside to help women who are suffering from domestic violence and is being consistently used to rehouse paedophiles.
“This is completely inappropriate.
“This is the one pedophile that we know about, I’m certain that there might be others.”
