Mayor ‘incredibly proud’ of regional community’s resilience in face of extended lockdown
Regional communities unaffected by COVID-19 have been left frustrated by the extension of their lockdown until September 10.
Moree Mayor Katrina Humphries estimates more than one in three of her constituents are fully vaccinated, leaving her at a loss as to why Moree remains under the same restrictions as parts of Sydney.
“We’re hundred of miles away from the nearest possible case,” she told Jim Wilson.
Nevertheless, she’s “incredibly proud” of residents’ resilience in the face of COVID scares and lockdowns.
“When the chips are down, there’s no better place to be than a community like the Moree Plains.”
