NSW Nationals MP Melinda Pavey has opened up on her decision to leave politics.

Ms Pavey was dumped as water, housing and property minister in December last year amid a cabinet reshuffle.

She told Ben Fordham that was a major part behind her decision to not contest the next election.

“You don’t have to be in Parliament to get things done.”
