New Zealand coach Michael Maguire says he’s open to a return to the NRL head coaching ranks.

Following his success at last year’s Rugby League World Cup, Kiwi officials extended his stay until the 2025 World Cup.

At the moment, Maguire is happy with his New Zealand coaching role and working with the Raiders, but is not ruling out returning to the NRL as head coach.

“I really enjoy building teams, at some stage, when the time is right, it’ll sort itself out,” Maguire said.

The former Wests Tigers coach also weighed in on the side’s poor start to 2023.

“I feel for the players and what they’re going through at the moment,” Maguire said.

“But I’m sure they’ll get their way out of it.”
