Michael McLaren questions the export narrative around international students

Michael McLaren has questioned why international tertiary-level students are viewed as an export as he waits to see how long caps on student visas last.
His questions come after claims were made suggesting asylum seeker rates could increase following changes to immigration and caps on international student visas.
“I mean if the international student comes to Australia to study, then churns through a stack of visas to stay in Australia to work … what entity can be said to have been exported here?” he questioned.
