Shadow Minister says Australia’s coal shouldn’t be demonised
The Shadow Resources Minister Joel Fitzgibbon says Australia needs to meet emissions targets but still protect the coal-mining industry.
Mr Fitzgibbon says people need to stop demonising Australia’s coal because it is offsetting dirtier coal produced by other countries.
He tells Luke Grant Australia needs to help high-emission producing countries like China meet their global targets.
“We can only really make a difference if the whole of the world works together.
“We can’t do it alone. But we do need to do enough to allow us to preach the gospel to others.”
