‘Miracle’ no one else was killed in ‘callous, brazen’ gangland shooting
Police are amazed nobody else was killed in a ‘brazen’ shooting that killed an underworld figure.
Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad was killed at Greenacre in the latest in a string of gangland shootings.
Two burnt-out cars suspected to have been used as getaway vehicles have been found in Belmore and Strathfield.
2GB reporter Clinton Maynard told Ray Hadley police had previously warned Ahmad of a million-dollar bounty on his head.
“It’s been described as callous, brazen,” he said. “There were a lot of people in the street at the time, we are told.
“Some were associates of Ahmad, others were innocent bystanders, maybe just neighbours.”
Maynard said police described it as a “miracle” nobody else was killed after the large number of bullets fired.
