MND sufferer loses his fight weeks before his dying wish comes true
In July last year, Scott Barrett was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a dreadful and incurable condition that would slowly end his life.
Insurance company TAL refused to pay out Scott’s life insurance because he might live longer than 12 months.
Scott and his family were forced to cancel a final family holiday to Disneyland, including a special Celine Dion concert.
By the time the payout arrived, the disease had taken over Scott’s body and robbed him of the ability to walk.
Ray, with the help of Sony Music, decided to surprise Scott and his family with tickets to Celine Dion in Sydney in July.
But despite an incredible fight, Scott passed away on Monday evening surrounded by his wife and children, unable to live out his final wish.
