More teen firebugs apprehended by police
Two boys, aged 13 and 14, have been arrested on the far north coast for allegedly lighting a fire in beach-adjacent scrubland.
According to police, the teenagers used a cigarette lighter to ignite a pile of paper, dry leaves and vegetation in Kingscliff on Monday.
Several young arsonists have been arrested and charged since the state-wide total fire ban was implemented.
A 34-year-old man allegedly used a firework to start a blaze in a park in South Sydney on Thursday night, and will face court today.
370 homes have been destroyed across the state during the bushfire season so far, most of those in the last week alone.
