MP furious over deferral of important projects in Coffs Harbour
An “extraordinary” council meeting yesterday in Coffs Harbour has seen the deferral of several important projects in the region which has left locals furious.
The council voted to defer multiple capital expenditure programs mainly because of the new Cultural and Civic Space Project.
Locals are furious as money for the development is being redirected from funds dedicated to infrastructure upgrades.
To add insult to injury, Ray revealed the council is planning on re-branding the city of Coffs Harbour.
NSW Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh told Ray this is something a lot of people in the community foresaw.
“This Cultural and Civic Space will take about $5.5m each year out of the general fund to pay for itself.
“A lot of people are disappointed with this situation.”
