MPs clash over who’s to blame for energy crisis

Article image for MPs clash over who’s to blame for energy crisis

Federal MPs Ed Husic and Angus Taylor and have butted heads over which party is to blame for the recent energy debacle.

The MPs joined Deb Knight on Afternoons when the altercation occurred.

“We kept the market working effectively, the global environment is very tough, but we achieved that … and it’s just miraculous that when Labor gets into government … we see the electricity market not working,” said the former Energy Minister Angus Taylor.

Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic responded, “never underestimate the commonsense of Australians … they know it’s a bit rich to try and suggest that us being in for four weeks … are responsible for this crisis.

“We had a coalition government that sat on price increases they knew were going to come to energy. They bickered and argued amongst themselves and held up the process of finding new forms of energy.”
