‘It has lost its way’: Bill Shorten blasts NDIS
Bill Shorten is promising changes as the Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, following major exploitation of the system.
The NDIS is currently costing tax payers almost $35 billion a year and will reach $90 billion in a decade.
NDIS providers are offering $28,000 holiday cruises to patients, and some claimers are taking advantage of their NDIS packages for things like psychic healing, concert tickets and expensive furniture, as the extreme ‘rorting’ continues.
Bill Shorten’s taskforce is investigating 38 cases that amount to $300 million in payments, which he will address the National Press Club about today.
In his speech, Shorten is going to say, “It has lost its way…The hard truth is that the NDIS is not what it should be.”
“It’s a national disgrace!…There are people in serious need of disability funding,” said Ben Fordham.
